The Coalition
-
The Coalition was created in
2002 because the current traditional method of designing, financing, and
building and maintaining roads in this nation is not keeping pace with the growing demand
for mobility, freight movement and economic development.
-
Focused on the reauthorization
of TEA-21, our purpose is to explore
innovative financing and performance based contracting methods and to advocate the removal
of obstacles while providing incentives for innovative approaches.
-
Our goal is quite simply to
deliver higher quality transportation projects faster while saving
taxpayer dollars.
-
We will accomplish our goal by
helping policy makers in Congress, the agencies, and across the states to
understand the value that can be gained by coupling innovative financing
with innovative contracting methods.
-
Our Coalition members include
project management firms, construction and manufacturing companies,
financial services firms, and think tanks that
understand the value in finding new solutions that will result in more
effective and more efficient road construction and maintenance at a lower cost to
taxpayers. Many of our members have been involved with projects that are
highlighted in the Battelle study.
